A passion, a dream that has become true in 1999 with the first schnauzer, medium sized pepper and salt, the Multi Ch. Blow Like The Wind, also known as the legendary Chicco. It was love at first sight, as a little puppy Chicco ran between my legs and bit my trousers so I got him. After all this years he still stays with me 24/7 even if he is almost bind and a little bit deaf.
This dog was not selected for shows: extraordinary character, spoiled and loved, he was there in every moment of my life to cheer me up or to comfort me, he is the brother that I’ve never had, the dog who saved my life.
The first show that I attended was out of curiosity. There I met Prof. Raffaello Mariotti a well-known judge, who really liked Chicco even if I was not the best handler. I can still remember his harsh but truthful judgment: “ the dog is beautiful but you should learn how to present him properly otherwise, get a handler!”. As my first handler I chose Mr. Richard Hellman who, made Chicco a successful show-dog and won a lot of competitions. Helped by Richard, I decided to get my second schnauzer, Madrie’s American Dream, the small big champion of our house. She is the niece of the great Parsifal of Netzer’s House: thanks to her I started to breed dogs.
Peggy has won championships all over the world but she’s also been and still is an inseparable friend for 12 long years. Peggy, like all schnauzers, is very discrete, strong, honest and adorable and has always been there to defend the whole family. She won my heart quietly and will never be forgotten.
Just like in a fairy tale, Chicco and Peggy gave birth to 4 beautiful puppies, who have become amazing show dogs: Multi Ch. Ailè is the only dog that as today lives with us. Thought his career, he has won so many championships in Europe and outside, including the European Junior and World Junior & Veteran titles. Ailè could be defined as one of the most even-tempered dogs in the world, he is always willing to offer you help even after big accidents that stopped his career when he was 3 years old. Now he is back on game, in fact he won the BOB and BIS in veteran class at Budapest World Cup Show 2013. After a while another dog was included in our family, she comes from Russia and her name is Multi Ch. Trels Valeri Konfael also known as Valeri, bride of the fantastic Ailè and, as today, mother of some beautiful puppies.
As years passed by I wanted to experiment something new, I was fascinated the smaller sized dogs of the same breed and I finally bought my first black zwerg schnauzer the Multi Ch. Made In Spain Dextrorsum, better defined by the name “Little Shark ” due to his impetuous character. Professional in the ring, amazing show dog, defender of the house and the family, invincible even against bigger sized dogs: Little Shark didn’t think twice when in Zagabria he defended Ailè form a Rottwailer and saved him and the handler from what could have been a tragic situation.
Dado lives his first year with the handler Ante Lucin making his name proud by winning many championships and BIS all over Europe. After a year of victories he came home with his first bride: the sweet Multi Ch. Gloris Topolina. From this brood the “miracle dog” Multi Ch. Special Black Moon A. Ughetta Four Seasons was born. Ughi is the reason why I started breeding zwerg schnauzers.
The beautiful sisters J. Euw Multi Ch. Bon Bon Au Chocolat Noir and Black Diamond Of Indian Summer Boy were Ughi’s first loved puppies who in turn gave birth to high quality offsprings mating with the great Multi Ch. Buster Keaton
A new kind of dogs with a common feature: a great personality! Born to compete in beauty and agility competitions but also tremendous life companions for their bravery and joy.
I thank my dogs who alleviate the weight of grey days: they are part of our family and, now more than ever, when my daughters are studying in England and I quit my job, they are another good reason to stay and feel young.
I need to thank my wife Elisabetta who loves all of our dogs and, despite she doesn’t share my passion for beauty competitions, lets me take part in them.
As years went by I learned a lot from my schnauzers, they are my trusted mentors and psychologists. They gave me the courage to live, taught me how to have a good temper, how to be patient, the value of unconditional friendship and pure feelings that I hardly find in people outside my family. I appreciated their honesty, their dedication to the owner, their trust, humility, pride and determination.
To all of you who read this message and still haven’t experienced this great breed I recommend to live with one of these amazing dogs and discover how important and irreplaceable they can become in your everyday life. After one schnauzer you will never look back and choose another breed!
